The Transvaal Conference’s first adventurer fair was held on a cloudy chilly Sunday morning at the Ruimsig Stadium, near Little Falls on the West Rand. Adventurer clubs started arrive from around the Conference, from as far as pretoria Sunnyside, to SDA Mission on the West.
It was a wonderful sight to see young children in their uniforms, setting up the booths, and getting ready to march and do their activities. The program began with each club in formation marching around the athletics stadium, with their flags, and banners. Formalities began with the hoisting flags and a brief message of inspiration solemnized the event with the Conference Secretary who challenged the young minds to run the Christian race with discipline and perseverance, with their eyes on Jesus. The adventurer pledge and law was reaffirmed by the clubs in response to the message.
The children demonstrated their skills in making knots, basic first aid, amongst other things.
Ps Howard Rossouw and Lynn Rossouw were both present as Youth and Pathfinder Director, and Women’s and Children’s Ministry Director, respectively. The program proceed without incident and turned out to be a fulfilling day for those that attended. We would encourage more of our congregations to build strong adventurer departments, and to join the army of adventurers at the next adventurer fair.
Thanks to our heavenly Father for a wonderful day!
